Marketing on the internet these days has become huge in size and epic in its proportion.  The money making potential on the internet is huge.  Black hat marketing a product or service is a fast and easy way to rise to the top and make money quick.  Ah, but it isn’t that easy.  There are some helpful guides out there, a lot of misinformation and one forum:  Black Hat World.  Sort of the one stops shop for all of your questions and needs pertaining to the black hat world.  That aside, marketing requires patience, research, diligence, and all the other buzzwords one can think of really.

But it can’t be that hard cans it?  No.  It isn’t.  Once you figure out a niche or vertical as they call it, it really is a downhill battle.  A lot of affiliate networks offer a wide variety of niches and verticals for you to try.  It will probably take some trial and error, a little black hat, and a little luck to strike internet gold but it can be done.  Perseverance can go a long way here.  Most people will give up after trying running one marketing campaign.  I can almost guarantee you that the first campaign will not be successful.  There are so many variables that will be new and so many opportunities you will not realize until after it is over.  I would say one of the most important things is metrics.  Having excellent metrics or analytics of the process as it unfolds is critical.  How else can you possibly rectify what is going wrong without knowing when and where that is occurring?

So you have done your first campaign and failed miserably.  Do not get discouraged.  Most people who have become extraordinarily wealthy also failed miserably their first time too.  That is a simple fact.  Use what is familiar to you when approaching a niche and then lace it with black hat techniques if possible.  Maybe not as the first go round but you will have to consider those methods of black hat marketing because people getting rich off the same exact keyword spread or niche you are, are most certainly dipping into the world that black hat has to offer.  Again, research is king here.  Striking off on your own and not understanding the implications of your decisions is a surefire way for disaster.

But really, what it comes down to is driving traffic, having a killer landing page, having excellent ties to your affiliate network, and being extremely motivated.  Do you want to quit your day job?  Do not do this immediately and do not spend a large sum of money at first.  You must know the ropes and you are most likely not a marketing maven or graduate.  The good news is that black hat marketing is not rocket science and if you have a good intuition and a natural approach to relationships you are already halfway there.  All of that can be supplemented with cold hard research data and trial and error.
